Reading W5 T3 - Growth and Fixed Mindsets

These last two weeks we have been learning about growth and fixed mindsets. To show our learning we were asked to make a poster, animation, tweet, quote etc. about what we learned from the articles we read. I chose to make a poster about Albert Einstein, a well known inventor. I chose to write about how he showed grit, perseverance and a growth mindset.

The following image is a screenshot of my work

If you were to write about someone who showed a growth mindset, perseverance and grit, who would the person be? And why?

Reading W7 T1

This week for reading our task is to choose two articles between the six articles to write main points about. By the end of this week we should have a few good ideas about creating a new space for Christchurch based off the texts we read.

Here are the main points I've collected from two articles I've read (click on the screenshots below to open the full doc).

If you could, what would you build for Christchurch? And why?

Reading Task W5 T1-Making Connections

I'm starting this term's blog posts with a reading blog. This week in my reading goal was "Make connections between other texts and general knowledge to expand meaning and pose questions, using more sophisticated texts". Our task is to create a venn diagram making connections between two of the texts we were assigned to read. The texts I chose to read were For the Land and Pa Tuwatawata. These texts were both about maori land and culture.

Here is my Reading DLO for this week

What did you do for your first blogpost this year? And what connections did you make between one of the texts and your life experiences?

Reading-Positive and Negative

This week for reading we are again reading with the fantastics. We are also learning to detect positive and negative intent when we read. This week our task is to fill out a slide based on what we think about the short story paragraphs.

Do you think the stories were mostly giving a negative effect or positive?

Reading-Article opinions

This week for reading we chose between multiple pieces of text and had to record a conversation between our pairs discussing about their opinions on the text. I didn't have a buddy to work with and couldn't find the time to record so I made a slide instead! Hope you enjoy!
What is your opinion on kids eating junk food?
