Covid-19 Quarantine

Recently my school has gone into lock down. Everyone is required to stay inside and distance themselves from their family and friends as much as possible to keep people from catching covid-19. Today is the 5th day of the corona virus quarantine, our city is expected to stay in quarantine for at least 4 weeks or more. 

For the past 5 days in quarantine, my family has been going on with our day normally at home. We wash our hands more often and keep our hands as far away from our face as possible. Some things I really enjoy about the quarantine are: having more time to spend with my family, being able to do school work at home, and being able to have more time to draw of course! Some things I don't enjoy in quarantine are: not being able to spend time with my friends, being bored, and having art block.

Writing Create Task

In my writing workshops our goal is to "Use language features specific to the purpose of the text". Our create task was to create a poster including the purpose of writing a report and the acceptable language features to be used in reports.

What language features do you think that are acceptable to use in reports?

Reading Myths and Legends Create and Share

In my Reading workshops we have been talking about myths and legends. Our create task was to read Kupe's Travels Around Aotearoa and create a timeline of the important events. Our learning goal in this workshop was to "visualise using all of the senses, and talk about how this enriches meaning and identify at least one important idea and justify why it is important".
