Kaupeka Camp W9 T3 - 6'Cs reflection

This week for Writing we were assigned the task to reflect on our time at camp and think on how we showed two of the 6'Cs in our favourite activity and throughout camp. I wrote a four paragraph long reflection on my favourite camp activity, Abseiling. The writing below contains my work for this week.

Kaupeka Camp six C’s reflection 2021

During Term 3 Week 8 on the 6th of September 2021 my hub,

Kaupeka hub, went on a school trip to YMCA Wainui park camp for 4 days.

I believe that we went to camp because the teachers are encouraging us

to work together as a team and build on the six C’s.

This is a reflection over camp and how my actions connected to the six C’s

Out of all the six C’s I believe I showed Character and Creativity the most.

My favourite activity out of all of the activities was Abseiling, where we climbed

a tree and learnt how to lower ourselves down using ropes and our harness.

I showed Character in Abseiling because I showed grit and perseverance as I climbed the tree.

It was very enjoyable, everyone really enjoyed the activity.

Everyone had the same amount of encouragement as they climbed the tree and lowered themselves down.

I believe that I showed Creativity in Abseiling because I thought outside of the box and climbed the

tree using the foot and hand holds differently to my peers.

It gave everyone a scare but in the end we all climbed all the way to the top and back down.

I believe that I can apply these two 6’Cs, Character and Creativity, to my everyday

life by having a growth mindset, persevering, thinking outside the box and

using my peers skills to an advantage and create a better outcome.

Though it was cold, this year’s camp was a better camp than I had expected.

I really enjoyed most of the activities, I’m glad I was able to go.

The activities were challenging but the teamwork paid off in the end,

I never could have thought of being anywhere else but camp.
